Tokyo Cafe Turns Viral Indie Hit into Playable Experience—with Cocktails

Ukiyo Game Bar & Cafe in Tokyo has turned the viral indie game Buckshot Roulette into a bookable experience that's capturing imaginations worldwide. Groups of two or more can reserve time slots to play a non-lethal version of the game: if you lose a round, you take a shot of alcohol instead of facing actual consequences. Hosts wear a detailed dealer mask and wield prop shotguns as players gather around a custom roulette table—originally built for Tokyo Game Show—sipping themed cocktails.

The bar collaborates with game developers to craft drinks tied to indie hits. The Arctic Eggs cocktail, made with The Water Museum studio, even features gummy eggs imported from America by staff. Photos of the experience spread rapidly across social media, sparking travel plans among gaming fans eager to participate.
