Sanderson Eyes Skyward Board Games, But Won't Rush the Cytoverse Adaptation

Brandon Sanderson would "love to" adapt his Cytoverse books into tabletop games, but he's pumping the brakes on new collaborations. In an interview with IGN, the prolific author acknowledged exploring the idea but stressed caution about demanding too much from his fanbase. "I don't want or need it to be all Brandon Sanderson all the time," he said, pointing to a saturated market of great books and games.

Sanderson is already deep in tabletop ventures through Brotherwise Games, developing a Cosmere TTRPG alongside standalone board games. A Skyward TV series in development could eventually spark tabletop interest, though that adaptation remains years away—the Mistborn film isn't expected until 2031 or later. For now, his focus stays on the Cosmere RPG's Mistborn expansion launching in November and the upcoming War for Roshar strategy game.
